We build a smart home using GUI based environment LabVIEW. The system acquires automated data from the surrounding in form of temperature, lights, motion etc. The purpose is to learn and build a prototype of an intelligent automation and security system. LabVIEW is software used for wide variety of data acquisition applications in industries. This can be done without having the best knowledge of languages like JAVA,C,and C++ etc. It is user friendly and saves time. Debugging a source code i.e. VI in LabVIEW is easy as compared to other languages because of the graphical codes. This work describes the automation and control of a system using (NI) LabVIEW with the help of sensors e.g. Temperature,LDR, motion sensor and manually controlled LED¿s.
