This project related to Heat Transfer rate from a cross-flow copper fins and copper-nickel multi-tube can be augmented either by increasing the surface area or by creating the turbulence or by increasing the friction. In the present project, the experimental investigation has been carried out for a specific type of bimetallic finned tube. Bi-metallic finned tube is a tube in which the fins are of a different material than the material of the base tube. The bimetallic finned tube which is being investigated is a copper-nickel tube with copper fins of uniform thickness. The optimum fin may be considered the one which has a constant heat flux at any cross-section between the outer edge and the base for the common longitudinal and transfer fins these would correspond to tall narrow shapes with a small base area. Transverse fin exchangers in cross-flow are used only when the film coefficients of the fluids passing over them are low. This applies particularly to gases and air at low and moderate pressures. Fins tubes heat exchanger is generally used in the combustion refrigeration and air conditioning industry.
