J.L. Jefferies holds a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California and has taught at and held fellowships at Indiana University, Virginia Tech, Morehouse College, and Harvard University. He has written numerous scholarly articles and is co-editor of Spectrum: A Journal on Black Men Faculty.
