Still, the impasse remains. Lonergan offers dynamic structures,heuristic tools, and a collaborative framework for specialists to rise to a higher viewpoint and move toward a comprehensive understanding of the fact and significance of religious diversity. The task and nature of the discipline can be reconceptualized with his critical contribution.

Salazar is a New York Province Jesuit. He completed his PhD at Radboud University Nijmegen. He holds an S.T.L from Weston Jesuit (Boston College) and an S.T.B. from the Missionary Institute-London (aff. Leuven). He has served as campus minister at Fordham University. He was a chemical engineer for Royal Dutch Shell in Den Haag and Manila.
