After being shipwrecked on a remote Island in the Pacific, Jack finds himself in the ranks of the Guardsmen, elite warriors tasked to protect a group of refugees that share their Island sanctuary. This sanctuary is by no means safe, though. Danger seems to lurk behind every fern. And when a boat carrying asylum seekers lands on the Island's shore, Jack's already tumultuous world is turned upside-down. Because the seemingly-innocent refugees are not what they appear to be. Things begin happening that shouldn't. The natural becomes the unnatural. It soon grows clear that something has infected the Island. Something evil. If Jack and his fellow Guardsmen ever hope to make it out alive, there's one thing they've got to remember: The jungle never sleeps.
