Produktbeschreibung
Sidney Villary is an ultra-conservative, three-term congressman from west Texas whose two main areas of attention are immigration and abortion. Concerning his particular views, he is both unyielding and unapologetic. He is up for re-election and, although concerned about his chances, he is not worried. BUT...he is under a considerable amount of stress, both professionally and personally. He is being "Primaried": he is challenged from the right by a family friend. His parents are constantly pressuring him to "settle down" and get married: they want grandchildren in the worst way, but Sidney, who has dedicated himself to serving his constituency, believes marriage would be his political Waterloo. And a woman who adores him-and happens to end up carrying his child-rejects him on the premise that he is unfit to be a father. Amidst the campaign Sidney experiences a life-altering transition, much for the worse: he will never be the same. For the first time in his life he experiences genuine loss...and emerges a better man.
