By 2085, government rule by the authoritarian conservatives, also known as the AuthCons, had taken the freedoms of the people, concentrated the wealth to a few, and ignored climate change. Society was in shambles and the earth was dying. In 2024, Dr. Gabriel St. James, retired Professor of Toxicology, returns to his remote home in the Colorado mountains after attending a toxicology conference and running an "errand". Stopping at a roadside bar for dinner, he meets Isa, the owner. Isa is a DomainShifter who traveled through parallel universes from 2085 to recruit St. James for a mission to stop the AuthCons using his expertise with mushroom toxins. Unfortunately, their mission isn't as top-secret as they had hoped. To plan and complete the mission, they travel through parallel universes from 2024 to 2085 to 2006, from the mountains of Colorado to the Sonoran Desert of Arizona to the Napa Valley in California. Before the mission starts, Isa must save St. James from being arrested... for murder.
