About the Author Joy Newbold lives in West Jordan, Utah, where she rides horses, raises rabbits, enjoys theater and music, and teaches preschool. She and her husband, Vern, have six children and twenty-two grandchildren. She is the great-great-granddaughter of Caroline and Mosiah Behunin. Even as a child, Joy was fascinated by their remarkable story. Her desire to turn that story into a novel motivated her to become a writer. Joy's previous works include: Where the Dragon Soars, Ghosts in the Attic: Warlocks, Witches and Ghosts, and Shai: The Lamb
