JoAnne Russo Januzzi was born in New York State, in the town of Lynbrook. She was a Special Education teacher earning her undergraduate and graduate degrees at Hofstra University. She earned both a Professional Diploma Degree and her Doctorate at Fordham University. She was both a high school and middle school principal. She is the mother of two children and has five grandchildren. She currently resides in Westchester County, New York.
