After thirteen years in the US Marines, Will Thomason has returned to his home state of Florida hoping to serve his country in a different way. Encouraged by his best friend, DC lawyer Zack Miller, Will runs for a seat in the US Senate, winning the election handily. But life in DC isn't everything Will hoped it would be. He quickly discovers his fellow senators are mostly corrupt. Their interests extend no further than ensuring their own re-election and repaying the lobbyists who shower them with money and gifts. Will isn't the only person to see how far the US Senate has fallen. A powerful group of corporations is also upset with Washington's increasing corruption, which they see as an embarrassment to the country and bad for business. Called the Solution Committee, this subversive group seeks to influence crooked senators into working for-not against-national and economic interests. The senators they cannot coerce have a tendency to turn up dead. The Solution Committee has its eye on Will Thomason as a potential ally. Will must answer for himself: is murder a justifiable tool for influencing government officials?
