An honest, raw look at love, loss, addiction, and active recovery, proving to be a transformative narrative that reorients the reader to reality, and energizes the continuing discussion on what it means to lose everything held dear. This is a man's 1 year internal conversation with the reader about loss of family and friends, divorce, medical issues, while clawing and scraping his way to liberation, back into AA and redemption. The warped logic of addiction extends beyond the addict, making all others in its wake either capitulate to the disease, or discard the sufferer. In a widening circle of pain, false hierarchies are built, human value is questioned, intersecting with what it means to be alive. Many tears have been shed in the writing of this book of poems, and not just by the author - dark paths followed, hospital stays, depression episodes, self-loathing. The path, though, becomes liberating, providing new ways of thinking about our lives and each other as human beings.
