The book is an offer to the Timorese People. It is my contribution to the Catholic Church in Timor-Leste for further reflection in order to respond to the pastoral and catechetical needs of the faithful. We cannot just import books for theological reflection from outside without having knowledge of the religious phenomena in the Timorese soil. The seminarians should know the core value of the people. It is also meant for farther academic investigation either in anthropology or in theology.

Jose Cancio da Costa Gomes has philosophical studies in Jakarta, Indonesia (1992-1995), theological studies in Manila, Philippines, 1999-2002. He holds a Master in Theology in the Catholic University of Portugal, 2015-2016 and holds a PhD, University of Porto, Portugal.
