Autorenporträt
Economista y sociólogo, es Investigador Coordinador del Instituto de Ciencias Sociales de la Universidad de Lisboa. Ha sido profesor visitante en varias universidades europeas y sudamericanas y Profesor Catedrático del Instituto Universitario de Lisboa. En 2018 ha sido agraciado con un doctorado honoris causa por la Universidad de Manizales (Colombia). Ha dirigido proyectos internacionales en varios dominios de las Ciencias Sociales y publicado en revistas internacionales de referencia. Ha publicado más de 40 libros, de entre los cuales se destacan: Tribos Urbanas (São Paulo, 2004, 2006); Vida Cotidiana: Enigmas e Revelações (São Paulo, 2005) y Criatividade, Juventude e Novos Horizontes Profissionais (Rio de Janeiro, 2012). En español publicó: Chollos, Chapuzas, Changas. Jóvenes, Trabajo Precario y Futuro (Barcelona, 2007).
