Cancer of Oesophagus is among the cancers with poor patient prognosis. Despite the "Oesophageal cancer belt" being the area with highest incidences, Cancer of Oesophagus is prevalent in all corners of the world. The epidermiology time ago, indicated squamous cell type being commonest. This has seen transition in the western countries to favour adenocarcinoma in predominance. In Zambia, however, there has not been this changing epidermiological picture. Joseph Musowoya received his education in Zambia and obtained his medical degrees from University of Zambia in 2004 and 2010,MBChB and MMed Surgery respectively; and FCS (ECSA)in 2011. He is both a practicing surgeon at Ndolal Teaching Hospital and a teacher.
