This book tells the story of five generations of the Colford and Lipsett families, from their humble beginnings in Ireland, to their immigration unto the United States in the early parts of the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Facts, as well as some thoughtful speculation about certain people, places, dates, and events have contributed to the fabric of this tale. Some family tree branches are clearer than others, yet the story remains as complete as possible, given the need to piece together some story lines from just some fragments of evidence.

Autorenporträt
Joe Colford is a professionally published author of two other books on crisis intervention designed for university training programs in psychology and counseling; he has a Ph.D. in Child Clinical Psychology and currently is a Professor of Psychology at Georgian Court University in Lakewood, N.J. This book, however, is his first attempt at self-publishing. Researching and writing his family history has been his private passion for 15 years. He has scoured multiple archival sources over the years, questioned near and distant relatives, particularly his mother, Catherine Lipsett Colford, who steered him in the right direction to find information that you will read here in order to put this all together. Joe will continue to search for whatever missing pieces of his family history that still haunt his story, whether due to missing historical records, or simply to unspoken family secrets.
