Jimmy's is a contemporary novel set in suburban Chicago. It is the story of a young man who lost his way, but who finds it thanks to an unlikely source: an unscrupulous, crafty degenerate who seems to be the owner of a popular and profitable bar, but who actually is so much . . . less. Because less can be more, Jimmy's is a funny story with irony and justice. Life does not always offer happy endings, but Jimmy's provides one for everyone.

Autorenporträt
Joseph Thomas Gatrell is a writer, teacher, exercise fanatic, and information addict. A former altar boy, he is a survivor of 12 years of Catholic school education. He notes, however, that the only time a member of the clergy laid a hand on him was when a nun sucker punched him when he was in the 5th grade. Joseph is a graduate of Mount Carmel High School of Chicago and Valley City State College, and apparently he enjoyed college so much that it took him six years to graduate. Joseph lives in the Gold Coast of Chicago with his roomate, Speedy the Beagle.
