Langerian Mindfulness defined as a flexible state of mind in which people are actively engaged in the present, noticing new things and sensitive to context (Langer, 2000; p. 220), can be of great help in the area of language learning. Learning a second language is learning something quite new. If students learn to welcome and accept novel materials, views, and thoughts, they may progress significantly in their learning. Although the positive association of Langerian mindfulness with language learning is theoretically justifiable, it has not been empirically examined sufficiently. This book presents an experiment concerning the impact of Langerian mindfulness on learning English macro skills to contribute to this under-researched area of study.
