After graduating from university, Jay-Chung Chen came to Pasadena, California, to pursue graduate studies. He obtained a PhD in aeronautics and started his career and family in Pasadena. After retirement, while continuing to teach a course on "Aviation Meteorology," he finally began his lifelong hobby: writing spy novels. Over the years, Jay-Chung Chen has published six novels. From Heidelberg to Shanghai is the first written in English.
