Although virtual schooling has been in existence since the 1990s, the COVID-19 school closure was an introduction to online learning for many educators and students. Jackie DeLucia is a high energy student advocate with 20 years of experience in the field of education. She has held several PreK-12 school-based leadership positions including Elementary Team Leader, Middle School Department Chair, English Language Development Coach, High School Resource Teacher, Assistant Principal, and Supervisor of a district-led K-6 Virtual Academy in the largest public school district in Maryland. Jackie is presently pursuing a Doctorate in Educational Leadership. She has earned a Graduate Certificate in School Administration & Supervision, a master's degree in Teacher Leadership, a master's degree in Bilingual and Multicultural Education, and a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She possesses a thorough knowledge of current educational principles, best practices and procedures in program development, staff training, instruction, and instructional technology. She has served on several curriculum development teams in both Elementary and Secondary fields. She has a thorough knowledge of public-school organizational structures and administration of curriculum, assessment, instruction, policy, student achievement data, as well as federal and state laws related to education. Additionally, she has designed and delivered several professional development sessions and is skilled at guiding staff to use data to improve student achievement.
