The subject warrants further study and analysis as the United States Marine Corps currently excludes women from serving in the CI/HUMINT military occupational specialty (MOS). Thesis research is aimed at assessing the possible impacts to combat units, typically line infantry battalions, overall combat effectiveness and unit cohesion should the be assigned a HUMINT Exploitation Team (HET) to conduct human intelligence collection operations and support COIN operations.
