Banished to prison, Atlan escapes using the power of a crystal and makes his way back to his wife on Urth. They become rulers of a new nation named in honor of Atlan, called Atlantis. Author Jack Nast settled in Tarpon Springs, Florida, to start a boat building business. He then became a sports writer and author before illness overtook him. Nast died in 1990 with most of his writing unpublished. Nast's widow, Theresa Lori Taylor Nast, chose author David A. Britner to finish Jack's work because of their similar mindset.
