McNaughton is command historian for U.S. European Command in Stuttgart, Germany.He previously served as command historian for U.S. Army Pacific and the Defense Language Institute.He received a doctorate in modern European history from The Johns Hopkins University and is retired from the U.S. Army Reserve with the rank of lieutenant colonel."
