Autorenporträt
James M. Kammer, local historian and Raquette Lake History Center director, first came here as a boy with his grandfather. Soon afterward, his parents bought property in the village, and eventually Kammer changed from a weekend resident to a permanent one. Well-known and respected throughout the area, he has long researched the past and collected vintage photographs, which he has enthusiastically shared in talks and presentations. In Around Raquette Lake, he presents the earliest and best of his collection, together with the most interesting historical notes and details.
