From the last many decades, a large number of ecosystems have been damaged by the growing influence of human activity. Modern society continues to rely on the use of petroleum hydrocarbons for its energy. Despite recent technological advances, accidental spills of crude oil and its refined products occur on frequent basis during routine operationsof extraction, transportation, storage and refining. Many studies have been planned to either prevent the contaminatin or clean up the polluted site after the contamination. Among the technologies available to deal with contaminated water, BIOREMEDIATION based on metabolic activity of microorganisms have certain advantages.
