In 1999 Jeanne moved with her then boyfriend from Newport, RI to Eagle River, Alaska. Jeanne recounts the difficult beginnings of life in Alaska having moved into an uninsulated shack outside of town and how from this beginning she found dogs, love, and created a new life for herself in the outdoors of Alaska. Jeanne's story is a story of self-exploration, growth and friendship as much as it is a story of cats, dogs and the sport of mushing.
