In the beginning, the valley was whole; Ruled under the banner of Peace by one great man who was blessed with four sons and one daughter. The first born, who would inherit all the land, instead divided it equally among all five siblings. It was this tremendous act of fairness that united the valley. But as changing as the seasons are people; and betrayal spreads like a disease for generations. A new valley must be forged and with it new unions to restore old ties; no matter how despised. It is here, where our story begins with the Prince riding out to honorably accept his most unwanted bride while a young girl flees a life of sexual servitude. Though their meeting is accidental, they find their destinies tied not only to one another but to the entire valley as well.

Autorenporträt
Jeannie Kumle was born in Escondido California in 1976. Along with an identical twin, Jeannie was raised by her mother's mother and step father; following construction and moving every few years from one end of California to the other. Though constantly being the new kid was difficult, she could never remember a time when reading a good book wouldn't make everything better. 'Adolescence is petty, and cruel but we all have to go through it and most of us eventually grow up, ' she says. Always looking for a challenge, her employment history was diverse; starting with ranch hand at thirteen years old, where she worked for free horse back rides, (Totally worth it!) then the United States Marine Corps from 1994-1998, where she said she 'grew up' fast. Finally, in 2003 she was hired as a glass blower and has been there since, and loves it! She believes if you don't love your job, get a new one; no matter what it pays. In 1999, Jeannie settled in Anderson California, where she lives with her true love David and three amazing kids; Nic, Carlie and Erik who mean everything. Jeannie is an avid writer, reader, athlete and outdoor junkie and says her friends and family influence all she does and inspire her to do her best every day.
