Jeff Konemann is a loving husband to Wendy, father of three married children and Papi to seven grandchildren. He has broad experience starting his professional life as a Naval Artificer and Marine Engineer on the aircraft carrier HMAS Melbourne when 15 years old. A boyhood dream to be a military pilot was realised after six years of out of hours study when he became a military pilot in 1983. Flying helicopters, jets and turboprops for the Royal Australian Navy this took him and his family around the world. A highlight of Jeff's career was flying for the Royal Navy Sharks helicopter formation display team in the 1991 summer display season in the United Kingdom when on an exchange tour with the Royal Navy. Jeff became a helicopter and fixed wing military flying instructor and is passionate about teaching, passing on his experiences and getting the best out of new pilots. Jeff 's experiences operating military aircraft at sea are broad and include the challenges of landing aircraft on pitching, heaving decks in the stormy blackness of night and the rescue of Tony Bullimore in Antarctic waters during the Vendee Globe solo round the world yacht race in 1997. After a 25 year Navy career Jeff ventured into the civilian domain to give his family stability not found in a military environment. He found his passions for service sat well in the aeromedical domain of saving lives. Jeff has flown business jets, turboprop aircraft and helicopters around the world. This has been through delivering medical teams and care to help people in urgent need flying to remote islands in jets, hospitals in remote parts of outback Australia in turboprop aircraft, through to landing roadside in helicopters to assist car accident victims. What a privilege to help people in need for over 42 years in service to the community through the defence of the country, rescue and aeromedical services and Dads Daily Quotes. Jeff has lead and managed complex teams and individuals in times of crisis and through challenging areas of growth. This has included leading in times of loss of aircraft and loss of life in aviation accidents. Devastating events where the test is given first followed by the many lessons to be learned, personally and professionally. He was the Chief Pilot and Aviation Manager of a large and complex aeromedical company. Jeff has also served for over ten years on the board and then as Chairman, for a not for profit organization that assists people globally that are persecuted for their beliefs. Jeff continues to work globally in the highly sophisticated field of military and civil aviation training and aircraft simulation. Jeff and his wife Wendy have many interests and enjoy taking long distance walks. This includes completing 275km of the South West Coastal path in the UK, 1000km of the Camino de Santiago (twice in 2016 and 2018) and trekking to Everest Base Camp along with many other shorter walks. Travel is a passion for Jeff and his wife Wendy with both having experienced the delights, experiences and difficulties found in various cultures in over 60 countries across the world. Jeff is an accomplished portrait artist and also enjoys tending to his garden in the Blue Mountains west of Sydney in Australia. He started Dad's Daily Quotes in the form of daily emails sent to his children, to encourage and inspire them. It quickly grew into a catalogue of quotes, musings and stories, read and enjoyed by subscribers across the globe, and now gathered together within the pages of this book.
