"We need to create cultures to retain the best leaders. We can't do that without women. Corporate Rehab shines a light on the talented women who left the workforce, and inspires action from companies to design a better way." - Shelley Zalis, CEO, The Female Quotient Jennie Blumenthal believes women have lost themselves in corporate America. Women lose themselves daily, struggling to keep pace, and slowly over time - crushed by the weight of their societal roles. To cope, we become addicted, caught up in the hustle culture. Hooked on the validation we get from work, to the identities that give us the most belonging or fulfillment...to anything that makes us feel like it will help us remember ourselves and our worth, and to the numbing power of things that make us forget the pain of losing ourselves in the first place. Corporate Rehab is about how leaders can become addicted to the hustle culture, the steps we can take to "rehab," and how to thrive and lead without losing your identity again. Jennie shares her story of twenty years leading in corporate America, and the stories of 300 female executives she has interviewed across medicine, law, technology, business, and education. This book is for anyone whose priorities changed since 2020, but has no idea how to begin the process of reclaiming themselves and intentionally getting more from their lives and careers.
