Jim Archer was born in "The Mystery House" in French's Quay in Cork City during the harsh winter of 1947. After attending the nuns at St Mary's of the Isle he was educated by the Presentation Brothers at Colaiste Chriost Ri. Sport was the big thing in his life - hurling and football, sprinting and long jumping. After publishing short stories in "The Cork Weekly Examiner" he went on to write scripts and short drama that were staged in The Cork Opera House in the seventies. He continued to write on and off over the years - poetry, short stories, humourus articles for print and radio.
