Political intrigue follows as governments reel from the aftermath and the Delta-Phi work behind the scenes to solve the mystery. One works to save his hometown and best friend. Ultimately clearing the name of one of their own, they bring down a terrorist mastermind-only by the ultimate sacrifice. Part two jumps decades into the future with an experiment sabotaged by a new government-sponsored Delta-Phi in order to expose a murderous corporate executive. A member's son-a close friend of the suspect-makes a crucial decision and is ultimately reunited with his father. Together they pursue the criminal but are lost in an ironic repeat of the experiment. Another Delta-Phi member manages to regain his company and restore its legacy. Part three advances yet another seventy years to a moment of wondrous peace and discovery gone awry. A Delta-Phi agent nearly dies and her team is destroyed while trying to rescue her. Meanwhile, a member of the Delta-Phi's council seeks the true identity of humanity's most powerful leader. At last, it is the children of a marginalized, barbaric people who seek to return to civilized society and earn the Delta-Phi's promise to assist them. Regenerate, though fragmented into three distinct episodes, does have several cohesive threads.
