Autorenporträt
Omar Luther King was born to a Muslim family of Indian national freedom fighters. After graduation from Gauhati University, he worked in Gandhi Peace Foundation, New Delhi as Research Assistant, in YMCA, Guwahati as Secretary, in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Secretariats of Indian Parliament as Research Assistant and Assistant Director, respectively. On October 2, 1993 (Gandhi Jayanti), he took voluntary retirement from Parliament and since then has been serving Jesus fulltime as a Christian missionary amongst the Muslims. He travelled widely in India as a government officer and outside India as a missionary. His writings have appeared in several Indian and foreign dailies and periodicals, including Christian magazines. He is also the author of Indian Boy in Love: Essence of Religion (1966). Omar is a member of Apostles Methodist Church, New Delhi; a life member of the Evangelical Fellowship of India; a national-level faculty of Haggai Institute, India; and an alumnus of the Torchbears Bible School, Germany. He was baptised in Baptist Church in Panbazar, Guwahati, while his Muslim wife, children, Hindu daughter-in-law, and grandchildren were baptised in Methodist Church in Delhi. He is a life member of Assam Association, New Delhi, and an overseas worker in India of the Overseas Social Services, Germany.
