There are challenges facing libraries being computerized or automated. Some of these challenges includes; unreliable Wide Area Networks/ Local Area Network connections, shortage of computer literate staff in NOUN library, poor funding etc. With these challenges facing the automation of library resources, the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) library adopted the use of cloud computing in the provision and management of its resources. This study investigated the adoption of cloud computing for library services in NOUN, library. That is, the rationale for the adoption of cloud computing by the institution and the information services provided by the library, such as build digital library, searching library data and building community power. In order to achieve these services, there are implications such as cost, staffing and cloud maintenance among others. The study will be useful for open and distance learning due to the fact that it is relatively virtual and always available online. It will also be useful to those planning to switch their services to the cloud, librarians, students and researchers.
