Muslims are viewed as terrorists because of various inhumane practices conducted by some ¿Muslim¿ groups across the globe. The repugnant practices of a section of Muslims with extremist mindset among Muslims are a culmination of would be trivial disagreements, arguments, intrigue which develop into serious conflicts if not resolved comprehensively and efficiently. Since its creation, Kumi Muslim District has been experiencing conflicts in different stages and extent. This report revealed that factors that influenced conflicts among Muslims were not doctrinal but rather among others included; economic factors at 33%, leadership and Governance issues at 24%, Historical factors at 15%, Uganda Muslim Supreme Council Headquarters influence at 10%, Mbale and political factors each accounted for 9%. A need for customized curriculum for training Muslim faith leaders, periodical capacity building sessions, a needs assessment survey and SWOT Analysis, internal operational systems, investment in education and research; and a strong financial base with Reconciliation and unity as the precursors.
