This book aims at investigating second year EFL Moroccan university students' use of grammatical cohesive devices (GCDs) in their argumentative writing. A corpus of 69 essays is analyzed according to Halliday and Hasan's (1976) grammatical cohesion framework. The mixed-method research design is adapted to identify the types of GCDs used in the agumentative discourse, and to disclose the difficulties encountered by learners in using these linking ties.
