The poems that I write are inspired by many things in life, from the happiest of times to the very saddest. Life has taken me from extreme highs to extreme lows and I chose to use this forum to hopefully brighten others life and to share love with others and advise that all of us has had both good and bad times but our low moments can be the catapult that can spring us to our highs. I was born in Bakersfield, California and raised in Buttonwillow California a small farming town about 30 miles west of Bakersfield. Calvin and Carless Figures my parents were good hearted solid people and I am blessed to have been raised by them who put a sound value system in my siblings and me. For many years I have maintained two careers in actuality one has supported the other. My career of choice was that of a Christian Minister where I was senior pastor of a small to moderate congregation and evangelized through out the United Stated and abroad. I also maintained a career in and around the petroleum industry from production of oil products to delivery of petroleum products as a professional driver. For the first time in many years I am not pasturing but pursuing avenues of sharing the good news and making others smile through my writing and oratory skills. Angelic Figures and I as husband and wife has shared in upbringing of four sons and two daughters Chester Jr., Chester L. Jr., Calvin, William, Alicia and Candice. Each of these is talented and gifted in very different ways. The past 7 years I have resided in San Antonio Texas the home of the four time world champion San Antonio Spurs basket ball team and the Historical Alamo.
