The mother was an orphan of Finnish immigrant parents who had eight childrendlren . died young and left her with three siblings to raise during the Great Depression and forgoing her education.Moving back to the Mid-West Lois was left alone, moving eleven times and trying to imagine a better future.While her mother worked hard Lois was given opportunities in a much better place.She was able to pursue a career in psychology working with and assessing the needs of abused children. She also had side career in real estate.She spent many years writing case studies for others and this a case study of her own life
