When it comes to improving our knowledge of the environment and our living conditions, science and technology have always walked side by side. This alliance has also determined the rhythms of what we call progress, significantly lengthening life expectancy in a surprising way compared to the past. Surprising, when we consider technology as a marginal contributor to these advancements because, until recently, it has mostly been used as a tool for making work easier and more efficient. Right now, however, research and technology are experiencing an extraordinary moment thanks to recent inventions, such as Internet and broadband, cognitive and quantum computers, which contribute by speeding up innovation, and new areas of study in every field. We will go through the content of Artificial Intelligence and Cognitive computing meanings, the machine learning and the deep learning; the future in nanotechnologies and other interesting innovative technologies. In this context, we will examine in depth certain areas of research and the way they are applied in medicine and psychology, starting from the premises that define these new technologies now and those that will be applied in the future. It's not a question of letting a computer decide, but of having all the possible tools and options at your fingertips to be able to make the right decision, to understand the problem that a human may have inside himself but be unable to express, for resolving part of something that Hippocrates once said: “Life is short, and art long, opportunity fleeting, experimentations perilous, and judgment difficult.” Life will still be short, art will still be vast, but we can already begin to look the other things from a different point of view.
