Lori is an ordinary woman who has endured extraordinary events, including the loss of a child - experiences so traumatising she could barely speak of them. Her biggest achievement is surviving, especially in the face of those who tried to suppress her. Lori's goal in writing is to validate victims by way of exposing the injustices ordinary people suffer. She reflects upon her authentic truth with brutal honesty and feels she has become wiser through the process.
