Most open pit mines require the use of explosives to blasting the rock and carry out the extraction of the ore. The blasting of rocks with the use of explosives generates seismic waves, which propagate in the rock mass, providing, in most cases, great discomfort in urban areas close to mining. Most open pit mines require the use of explosives to blasting the rock and carry out the extraction of the ore. The blasting of rocks with the use of explosives generates seismic waves, which propagate in the rock mass, providing, in most cases, great discomfort in urban areas close to mining. Currently, vibration and noise are the main complaints of the population surrounding the mining enterprise. For these reasons, this study approaches in a theoretical and practical way the importance of the technology of using Smooth (amortization of seismic waves) in the process of blasting rock with the use of explosives, as a way of mitigating the dissipation of waves in the massif. It was evidenced that the use of this technique positively influences the process, decreasing the vibration.
