Laura D'Auri was born to a real estate development father and a publishing industry mother. She had an unconventional family life as she grew up in the Silverlake and Los Feliz areas of L.A.She moved to Rome at 18, played guitar in a club, married an Italian flamenco guitarist, and then returned to her hometown of Los Angeles. She worked in a contact lens lab tech and was an Italian translator, then went to law school and became a city prosecutor and legal writer.She currently lives happily in West Los Angeles with her dog Joey and is working on a murder mystery and other projects.
