Autorenporträt
Laurie's mission in life is to awaken people to their innate creativity so they can re-connect to their soul, express themselves with authenticity and blaze their way to their biggest dreams. She specializes in being able to create spaces that allow for play and adventure, allowing people the freedom to explore creative expression, develop their skills of listening inwards, and respond with newfound awareness, confidence and joy. She is a certified expressive arts facilitator, intuitive practitioner and mental health occupational therapist. In 2013, she created Whole Arts Connection, a blending of Occupational Therapy and Expressive Arts, to help facilitate that life's mission. She sees clients both individually and within groups, and provides creative, art-based workshops in St. Louis (and beyond!) She's fun loving, a self described "schizophrenic art enthusiast" with no formal art education, who believes that the art process is a metaphor for all of life. "Art provides an imaginative playground to learn about ourselves and test the waters for our journey." She married the love of her life in 1987 and together, they created their only collaborative masterpiece: a son and daughter who have since deserted the canvas. Left to themselves, Laurie and her husband have found solace with their 2 dogs, travelling, skiing and wake surfing. (She still has not succeeded in inspiring her husband to brave the paintbrush!)
