Lawrence Crowder Davis earned his bachelor's degree in marketing from Miami University, an experience that was interrupted by four years of service in the US Marine Corps and a deployment to Vietnam. Since then, Davis has opened two of his own companies-the printer ribbon manufacturing firm Wordata in 1979, and Perfect Network, a marketing company for office consumables, in 1992. As a cancer survivor, Davis currently lives in Wilmington, North Carolina, with his wife, Joanna. The couple has three grown children, three granddaughters, and one grandson.
