Autorenporträt
Author, Lal Hmingliani Browne, is a third generation Mizo Presbyterian Christian from Myanmar. Her whole family was active in the church and from an early age she wanted to serve the church. She was born and raised in Myanmar but went to Aizawl Theological College in Mizoram, India for her basic ministerial degree and received an MDiv from Bishop's College in Kolkata. She served as a New Testament Lecturer in Tahan Theological College in Myanmar. She went on to study for a ThM at Presbyterian University and Theological Seminary in Soeul, Korea. She also studied at San Francisco Theological Seminary in San Anselmo for a Doctor of Ministry and at the Presbyterian School of Christian Education in Richmond VA where she received a MA in Christian Education. She has served as Director of Christian Education in two churches in Delaware and Maryand, and then became the first Mizo Presbyterian woman to enter the ordained ministry in 1995. Since then she has served in four PC(USA) congregations in Ohio, Kentucky, Texas and Florida, specializing in Christian Education and Congregational Care. She is currently the Associate Pastor for Congregational Care in Church of the Palms, Sarasota, FL. While she considers all of ministry a gracious gift, she continues to have special love for ministry with children. That love and her love of the scripture stories, as taught to her by her parents, led to the writing of this book of "Children's Sermons, Year C." Elizabeth Browne is at the time of publishing a 13 year old granddaughter of the author. Emily Browne is at the time of publishing a 9 year old granddaughter of the author.
