A quasi-experimental research was conducted on 400 adolescents, 200 from rural and 200 from urban schools. A standardized test was administered to the adolescents to find out their level of Emotional Intelligence. After analyzing the scores 100 adolescents with low scores were selected for a Emotional Intelligence Training. Focus group discussions with adolescents resulted in designing a training module to bring about a change in the Emotional Intelligence of adolescents.The research study revealed that Emotional intelligence can be developed in adolescents as revealed by the scores after administering the training module on the adolescents.Objectives of the study were :1) To assess the Emotional Intelligence of adolescents2) To find out the relationship of demographic variables such as age, gender, locality, parent's education & occupation and type of family with Emotional Intelligence of adolescents.3) To develop an Emotional Intelligence training module.4) To find out the effect of the Emotional Intelligence training on adolescents.
