Hence, this book assesses factors determining local community s support for tourism development in Ethiopia taking the case from Semein Mountains National Park. Derived from research findings, it revealed that local community has an extended support for tourism development. It also illustrates that perception on tourism development plan and decision are the most determinant factors on community support for tourism development. Moreover, the book address perceived economic dependency, perceived negative impact, awareness, perceived positive socioeconomic impact and attitude towards environment as the next important determinants respectively. On the other hand, it enlightens that perceived host-guest interaction and perceived positive impact on environment has insignificant effect on local community s support for tourism development. Generally, the book addresses areas on tourism, environment and community development.

Mr. Leul Yohannes Hailemariam, a community based eco-tourism specialist, is working as researcher, consultant, and lecturer at Department of Tourism and Hotel Management, University of Gondar, Ethiopia. He has BA degree in Tourism Management and MA degree in Tourism and Heritage Management.
