The aim of this book is to provide an up to date information on Southern Sudan education system. The main focus is pupils' retention or dropout after decades of civil and inter-community conflicts. It is intended to be a useful tool for education managers both at the policy formulation and implementation levels in the education reconstruction process. The book can be broadly divided into three sections.The first gives an insight into the extent and nature of pupils' dropout and the second brings to the attention of education practitioners the causes of pupils' dropout. The third is an attempt or solutions to enhance pupils' enrolment and retention in the education system. In a nutshell the purpose of the book is to enhance pupils' enrolment, retention and performance.
