Autorenporträt
Liyu is married and a mother of three. She immigrated to Canada from Ethiopia with her family. Liyu is a sociologist by profession and has worked in various community programs. One of Liyu's sons, Robi, is on the autism spectrum, and being involved in his therapy created opportunities for her to understand the world of autism. Her passion to work with children and her drive to advocate for social causes created opportunities for Liyu to work with more children on the autism spectrum in schools and their homes. It is what she learned from their world that became the motivation to write this book on their behalf.
