This book focuses on the importance of Reading Skill in English by the ESL Learners at their tertiary level. As the author deals with the students of adolescent stage, she is induced to know about the students and their interest in reading. She has made an exploration from her students about their attitude towards reading. The exploration becomes helpful to know about the interest of the present generation. It can¿t be completely assumed as the present generation is devoid of reading. Most of them are aware of the importance of Reading in the Second Language (English). Some of them practice it continuously. Some of them regularly read in their mother tongue. The others get diverted from reading by the advanced sources of entertainment like smart phone, television and so on. The author feels that the curriculum as practiced in the institutions does not give much importance for self-reading. Self-reading must be given importance and to be practiced in curriculum. That¿s what induces the author to publish the study as a book and to throw light on it.
