Despite the global response to the HIV epidemic, the disclosure of HIV status in the workplace is still a problem globally and in South Africa, due to stigma attached to the disease. It is evident from the literature that HIV and AIDS is a dynamic and complex phenomenon with serious economic impact to companies.The goal of the study was to explore the experiences of HIV positive employees in the transport sector after they have disclosed their status in workplace.A qualitative phenomenological approch was appropriate for the study using an indepth study and as such one question was asked "how would you describe your daily living with HIV after you have disclosed your status in the workplace"?. 15 participants formed a sample. Participant's experiences varied from one to the other.Some experienced support while others rejection and isolation.One issue which stood out was management lack of knowledge of the disease.Recommendations based on the findings were made on how to manage HIV status disclosure in the workplace.
