This work focuses primarily on the analysis of exit ramp performance related to traffic operations. The analysis is based mainly on simulations by TSIS-CORSIM, which is a microscopic software package and can indicate different driving behaviors under distinct exit ramp types. More detailed, twenty four field sites in the State of Florida are selected for data collection, different ramp effects and guidance for selecting optimal exit ramp type are concluded, issues related to ramp sections and crossroad sections are also demonstrated. And, minimum ramp length and minimum distance between ramp…mehr

And, minimum ramp length and minimum distance between ramp terminal and downstream or upstream intersections are calculated. Finally, design guidance is presented for applications in order to determine proper types under different prevailing conditions.
